I completely agree with you there. I don't like the Half-Life series and i think it's totally over rated (seriously people should stop comparing it to Deus Ex) and i found it mediocre at best. Now Portal and Team Fortress 2 are completely different stories. 2 great games. Actually that's one of the reasons i like CoD4 online so much. It's reminiscent of playing Black but a bit faster paced.

I was just about ready to write off this PoP game as "Assassins Creed lite" which would have had Ubi take a hit in my eyes but that last page about the combat made me optimistic again. It sounds sort of Shadow of Colossus-esqu in a way. Seems like i'll have to buy it to see how it's really going to be.

exact same thing after i heard about the new ''artistic direction" for the game. Because i couldn't understand for the life of me why the switch was made except for the game to acommendate the wii better. Because just look at Assassins Creed, if they used the same engine i'd pass out from the things the new prince of persia could do.
Which is worser not being able to play a single game till a patch comes out in a few days or not being able to play multiple games for up to or exceeding a month.
There is a bit of extra drift sometimes but overall the driving is fairly easy. After all the complaining about it, i was expecting the handling of the cars to be super hard (like say the first time you hop on a motorcycle) but it's really not that hard at all. It's better if you ease into the speed and before you have to turn to let go of the gas and let the car use it's momentum to turn while breaking a bit.
My sentiments exactly. I've gotten into the Beta and seen enough trailers by now. I don't want to know anything else about it till i purchase the game myself.
Good to see Eidos showing up (at least for me) I hope they show something for Deus Ex 3, announce a new thief game or show the new Hitman or announce a new Legacy of Kain.
Well FF13 is the only FF game i've ever been even remotely interested in. Throwing out the turn based stuff for more real time combat got my eyebrows raised abit along with the wee bit of story we've heard so far. I figure i might as well give it a try, but the real JRPG i'm interested in is White Knight Story. I was hoping for something more english (think berserk JRPG minus all the blood and more monsters) but it still looks fairly interesting.
Just a thought but maybe Americans and Japanese aren't buying SE milking Never Ending Fantasy 7 with making less than stellar side games as a "continuation" of the story.
I probably won't be buying a new TV this year but maybe next year i'll make the jump to 1080p. I have a 50 inch 720p Samsung DLP in the living room that i play my games on and a 1080i panasonic plasma in my room that i watch sports and my dvd's on. I don't think this is payola but i do think that either they were forced to change the scores from the higher ups. I can just imagine it: "Listen guys this is a big release game! It can't be anything under a 10, in the gaming public eyes we have to go with what the other sites are doing to become relevant again after that last fiasco."
I do not like the new art direction if it is indeed that and not just concept artwork or something like that. I think if it's going to go in that direction it could look better, much better in my opinion. I just like the more realistic look.
I don't really get this article. He speaks like well gta4 has already struck GOLD for the 360 and not the ps3 along with the 360 having just a year as the Ps3. But if i'm not mistaken (correct me if i'm wrong) but hasn't the Ps3 outsold the 360 more this year worldwide and in NA more than the 360 has outsold the Ps3 so far this year?
